HCWC will be hosting a community outreach program called Denim Day on April 27th in cooperating with Texas State University to create awareness of rape. A teenage girl in Italy was raped and when presented the case in court, the conviction was overturned because the victim wore very tight jeans and must have helped to remove them, thereby giving consent to sex. "It's eye opening to realize how prevalent violence is in our society," said Primary Conviction Intern Derick Turner. "I will never fully understand how people can get so angry and hurt people like that." Take action and create awareness by wearing denim on April 27th!
