Established in 1978 by local San Marcos women who were networking as they joined the labor force, HCWC is distinguished by having opened one of the original 6 family violence shelters funded in Texas in 1980, and in 1984 became one of the original 10 sexual assault programs funded in Texas. In 1997, HCWC then established a children's advocacy center, Roxanne's House. Our Primary Prevention Program of Sexual Assault program was added in 2000 as part of the anti-violence movement’s next wave.
Caitlin Wills:
Caitlin Wills is an undergraduate student of Texas State University in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in business, expected to graduate in December of 2012. Caitlin is from the small town of Muleshoe, Texas. Her interests include kayaking, drawing and social networking.
Morgan Atkinson:
Morgan Atkinson is an undergraduate student at Texas State University in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in business, expected to graduate in May of 2013. Following graduation she hopes to pursue event planning in Europe. Morgan is from Corpus Christi, Texas. Her interests include traveling, tennis and music.

Stephen Munson is an undergraduate student at Texas State University in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication with an emphasis in Electronic Media and a minor in business, expected to graduate in December of 2014. Stephen is from Dallas, Texas. His interests include sports, country music and playing with his two dogs: Kobi and Rocky.
